It was precisely this phenomenon that got Trump elected.
This time around, it will be independents and progressives, who will discount information that does not fit with their worldview and that includes potential achievements.
As communicators, it also serves as a case study of how hard it is to earn trust and how easy it is to lose it – even if you hold the highest office in the land.
